I like the table but may need a thick coat of lacquer or whatever it is that they use
in the restaurants to make rough tables look like someone poured glass or plastic
over. witch is probably what happened...

The paper has a hole in it where it sits on the table... Some old english writing
would look pleasing...

Ah yes, okay. I thought it might have been cut paper instead, which is why I
thought the pen might be an Exacto type knife.

I just figured it to be lit by a large rectangular window to explain the
shadows.

| Very nice. I think you will get a more natural shadow if you adjust your
| area light to face the scene. The shadow from the top of the vase is
| sharper than the rest of it. If you're using MegaPov you may use the
| circular-keyword and this will be done automagically.

Yup that is what I was striving for. Sunlight coming in through a window off
to the side.

I get the general impression of a sunlit scene which is incompatible
with a blurred shadow.

The question is not, "Who will let me do it?"
The question is, "Who will stop me?"
Offering an apology is easier than getting permission.

Hmm while it is true that sunlight usually does cause blurrier shadows this
is definitely not always the case. If you go out and look at the shadow a
trees branches cast you will most likely see that they are quit blurry. I
had intended this to be lit with sunlight coming in from a window off to the
side. The light is that from the sun in the evening, hence the darker yellow
colour to the light.

If you are thinking of light through heavily branched trees, that is
diffraction through "slits" formed by the branches. Rather look at the shadow of
a lone branch in winter. Better yet, put a vase in the window and look at its
shadow.

Sunlight is quite close is quite close to parallel, being a source of about
1/2 degree in the sky.

A bit rustie, you just weren't trying hard enough.

Nice image, is that silver/brass object a poker stand,
the texture of it is really good.
