The poet in me quotes Ibsen:
"I sorgeer for vandflom til verdensmarken,
Jeg laedder and lys torpedo uner arken."
The pover in me says:
"Um, great, duh. Less reflection, more blur (oh,blurmiester).
The artist in me says:
"Bigger, bigger, and how's your mom?"
Ok, I'll shut up now,

Am I supposed to know what this means? hmm. let's see
"Thou bringesth flood to the world,
I ?? and light torpedo ?? the ark.

Certainly my post was not meant as an affront to you or
your language. Quite the opposite.
Here is my translation.
You provide the flood for the world-field.
I (shall) gladly put a torpedo under the ark.
I,
Peter Warren

I figured that much, and sorry, bad wording. When I read my post now I
realize I sounded a bit harsh.
From your translation, the quote must have been:
"I soerger for vandflom til verdensmarken,
jeg legger med lyst torpedo under arken."
(Not sure what he meant though)
Baffled by this I forgot to comment on the Nieminen's image:
I'm getting sucked into this one! Looks like a maelstrom.

Kind of you to say. I had good news yesterday and
was "full of myself" (even more so than usual) so
this probalbly did not help the communication.
>(Not sure what he meant though)
It is from a poem titled "Why I am not a Conservative" by
the great Norwegian playwright Henrik Ibsen.
I picked it up from James Joyce's "Finnegans Wake"
which makes liberal use of many languages.
As to it's meaning, I would only be
speculating. I do think it makes
for a powerful 'mind' picture.

oops! sorry.
>I'm getting sucked into this one! Looks like a maelstrom.
This is a perfect word for this painting, I think.
