Ice cube pulled from a scene I'm working on.

Until I looked at omniVERSE's fine cube
http://members.aol.com/iotadot/lice.jpg
(I hope you don't mind me linking directly Bob.)
I had forgotten that water melted.
I also suffer from FOB (fear of blobs).
I do want to do some water dripping, like off a ledge.

What I would really would like to do is
embed images within the ice,
like the '70 subliminal ad craze.
But that is probably just a pipe dream.

It's just your basic superellipsoid with a modified
granite texture with a light on the inside.
No media, nothing fancy.

Ideas, suggestions?
(I would like to take a dig, ie criticism, of myself
here and say: ice_try != nice_try
but I am unsure of my 'grammer':)

Peter

Nice shape but it's gotta refract!

As the the subliminal images: if you look hard enough you'll see them.
You can start off with the quite realistic face of a middle-ages man in a
dark watch cap, sorta Blair Witch Projectish, looking upward, right over te
center of the checkered board (pardon my scribbling on your work!) I leave
finding the rude ones to somebody else.

That should, of course, have been "middle-aged".

Here's the Mr. Subliminal I saw, very obvious. I never could see the other
guy, sorry.

Don't mind the linking to it at all. Everything I have is actually free to
use so long as you aren't going to profit (ha) from it and leave me out of
the loop. Except everything I upload is turned to a Jpeg mess.
I went with my ice try after seeing Mike Hough's ice cube I think, should be
media and a superellipsoid used there but I'd have to look it up to be sure.
Like Robert said you need to put a ior in that, it's interesting though
because the granite texture and light is giving it a refractive and caustic
effect anyhow.

Now I see what's missing: refraction!

The nose is the most evident feature.

I don't know, "middle-ages man" works as well, I think.

Where is this cube?

Thanks for the comments and 'scribblings',
I really enjoyed reading them.
