By blobbing a couple superellipsoids I made a toothbrush. It was originally
a column. Go figure... Anyway, the bristles are just cylinders. The floor is
a plane and the handle and head of the toothbrush is an isosurface. The
colors are caused by the lighting and not by texturing. Enjoy.
PS: To speed up rendering I stopped it, changed settings, killed
area_lights, and +C'd the trace.

The handle looks fint to me but I would recommend a special grip place
for the thumb. You should also use more cylinders for the bristles in a
more random manner.
Otherwise the plastic is GOOD.

nice texture, but it looks a wee bit chubby and tubular to me, and the
bristles are a bit tiny

You picture is a fine example of how some of my images turn out.. I mean the
colors. The plane which is orange... apears to have concentric circles colrs
fading inwards.....
I don't know why this shoudl happen and how to get rid of it????

I'd guess it's just a display problem, here there are no concentric
circles... Does your display support 16M color mode (24 bits)?

This was just a demonstration of the blobbing. It's an improved continuation
to torusblob and boxblob. I guess I could have called it superellipsoidblob,
but that sounds kinda ugly. I came up with this late last night and left it
rendering with some silly settings and it still wasn't done in the morning
so I stopped it, toned it down, and posted it quickly before leaving for
school. The bristles were just placed there to see if this could indeed be a
toothbrush.

Really? It's just texture {pigment {rgb 1} finish {phong 1}}. Nothing fancy.
The bristles are texture {pigment {rgb 1 transmit .9} finish {ambient 1}}

See my reply to Marc about the texture. Yes, it is chubby, but I was in a
hurry. I'll improve it later. What do you mean by tiny? Too short, or too
thin?

Yes thankyou... it was on 16 bits color mode... I didn't have a 24bit mode
but do have a 32bit... changed it to 32 bits and walla a perfect image.

Very nice! However, you might want to make the bristles thinker. If you
look on a toothbrush, the bristles are in groups of, say 10 bristles, and
there are probably the number of cylinders on your brush as the amount of
groups on a real brush. Other then that, it's really good for an accident
:)

You're probably using 16-bit color. Change to 32-bit color for the best
effect.
