For a rotation around the z axis by angle a:
x <- x*cos(a) + y*sin(a)
y <- -x*sin(a) + y*cos(a)
("<-" meaning "replace")

PS: this is assuming the POV coordinate system, for standard
coordinates, replace a by -a...

Way to go Tony!
I'm sorry to say I don't know how to rotate the functions. Maybe that sort of
thing is best left to the future isoblob patch.
