Well, I'm not sure what you were seeing "critic" Spider ;) but I see a
pretty good ocean surface there. What it needs is a slight atmosphere
obscuration to show at the horizon. I think it would look great animated
so I'm waiting to see that.

I agree with you... hmm, a slightly turbulented ground fog with a big
distance... *thoughtful glance*
and I agree, it would look good animated.

I like it.
A bit like Spider said, looks a bit too dry, I think this is
because there doesn't appear to be a direct light source.
Reminds me of being on the ferry.
Cheers

If you're really up to it AND have Windows95/98 installed on some system you
could try the 5Mb download of ACWODS which is nothing more then suggested here
in a screensaver-form.

That is by far the best ocean I have ever seen come out of POV. Some
people get water that looks ok at a distance, while others have water
that look ok up close. This image gets the best of both. My guess for th
method is a waves normal combined with some other normal all converted
to a HF, thand rendered.
Please post the source (or, if it is an HF, post the method for creating
the surface and the textures used)!!!
If there was anything that needed improvement, consider making the
highlights less blue and the non-waves component of the surface less
noticable)
