Well, not exactly a forest as yet, just a preview. I would love to hear
feedback from all you guys. I would also like suggestions on the glass
texture (Glass3 in the texture include), as I feel it is too dark.
Personally, I would like to make it look more like the glass in the
Baking Powder image posted by Nicolas on Thursday. Could anyone possibly
tell me how to do this, as I am horrible when it comes to creating
textures. Thanks.

I am not too good with textures so I'll leave it to someone else to tell you
how it should be done but I too think the glass is too dark, also most glass
has a little bit of reflection on it, make sure there isn't too much though.
Oh an you'll want to display it on a darker background otherwise the jar will
disappear. Otherwise I like the image, nice shape to the jar, and especially
the young plant.

Here is a glass texture you should try :
texture { finish { reflection 0.2
refraction 1
ior 1.75
specular 0.8
roughness 0.003
phong 1
phong_size 400
}
normal { bumps .01 scale 2 }
pigment{ color rgbf <0.9,0.9,0.9,.85> }
}

Looks like you might have a problem with the torus CSG at top. Trouble
aligning I bet, glass makes it all the tougher too.
The dirt appears more like mud to me. Miniature clumpiness could be
better, especially at the jar surface. Maybe do two different textures,
one top layer and other against jar? Except maybe it would look right
once CSG'd from the jar interior. Just throwing in thoughts here.
I remember doing these (for real), terrariums(sp?) usually layed on the
side.
