This is really just a piece of a scene which is not finished yet. However, I'm
posting it here because a. it is an excercise entirely in non-patched POV (hf
generation, slope dependent textures, etc) and b. it is the first time that I
feel I'm at least headed in the right direction for decent terrain textures.
At any rate, I welcome comments and suggestions.

Wow, that's awesome. The most realistic terrain I've seen yet,
personally. I'd LOVE to see the finished product. Do you think you'll
be offering up the texture source? Just curious, what else are you
thinking of adding?

This is incredibly good. I don't know how you did it, but I'd like to see the source
code for it. Teh texture is amazing and the sky is accurate, just add a few good
media clouds and I'd say you're done...

I really like it, even the sky seems to have a sense of realism
about it.
