Here's yet another WIP. This was inspired by the Star Trek
Nova/Intrpid/Sovy/Defiant/Miranda classes. As it stands now, the model is
at about 2/3rds detail overall. This was completely hand-coded in Pov-Ray
in 3 days. The grids on the hull are Photoshop .pngs, while the underlying
hull plating is an internal procedural texture. All the windows have actual
rooms behind them, colored in the same style as the E-E. (if you look down
through the windows you see carpet!)
And yes, I'm doing this at the same time as the Aerospace fighter. Wanna
see me juggle?

Show-off. heh-heh-heh
Can it do 50 light-speed? Might be just the thing for my fast-paced solar
flyby animation.

quite a bullet... would that function according to Star Trek physics?
You should do a cut-trough and show the interior !

How about a mixture... :-)

<alarm>_3_DAYS_?!</alarm>
*thud!*
*hours later* Oooh, I appear to have regained consciousness. Wow, that
really does look like something from Star Trek. It looks very well planned
out and it leads me to my ultimate question:
"HOW'D YA DO THAT?!"
Better yet, how do you find the time and patience to work up such
masterpieces?

What's a WIP? I seem to recall it means a object with no background, but
can't remember the words.

Ah... but then what is the acronym for a single object with no
background?

If you recall, he has mentioned having many hours every day to dedicate to
POVing, unlike most of us. Finding time isn't a problem for him. Patience,
well, that's one of his virtues I guess. Maybe it comes with having lots of
free time.

It looks like some sort of artificial heart. It's still cool, though. I like
the contrast of color between the white and the celeste. I don't know what
it is about it, but I like it. Perhaps it's the high level of detail.
Speaking of detail, am I the only one amazed at the amount of detail in
Gilles' images? I mean, it looks like you could render his images at
infinity x infinity and still have no complaints. BTW, I like the Rhino
image, except for the naked dudes. Great texturing, and I love the lighting.
Modelling, of course, is superb. C'est magnifique. (sp?)
