More than one year ago I attempted to create a nice camp fire using my
particle system. The result was not too bad, but not very good either I
think.
Now I've tried again to make that camp fire, and the result is better
this time I think. The animation is attached here. As I see it, it has
more of that fire-like quality, which made me come up with the subject
line.
But as always, working on a project for a while makes you somewhat
blind, and thus, other people are best at spotting the possible flaws
and errors there are. So please comment. :)
By the way, I haven't been working on the particle system for some
months, but now I'm on it again, and I think it can be released within a
few months.

By the way, that animation which I made more than a year ago can be
found here:

Compare with the new one if you like...

The fie itself looks awesome(ROLEX). The only thing unrealistic I see
is the incandecent looking white light on the stones around the fire.
A little tweak there and I think you will have it nailed.

Absolutely stunning Rune. You've achieved the best CG fire I've ever seen, I think.
What did you do differently to the previous version?
Seriously looking forward to the particle system being released.
All the best,
Andy Cocker

Thanks Ken! :)
Silly me completely forgot that the light from the fire should be
yellowish and not plain white...

Haha, you fooled me there! Didn't notice it until I hit reply. :D
Thanks. :)

Whoa, thanks. :D

I don't really know. Many tweakings really, since the basic method is
the same. Suddenly I just found a lucky combination of settings.

Just let me wrap it up nicely and polish the last details. Unfortunately
that part takes longer than one might think, but ultimately it's for the
better. I've seen too many resources that are just too difficult to get
started with due to lack of documentation and demo scenes. I've also
seen good examples though, and I'd like my include files to belong to
that category.
