I've rewritten some chunks of the FEMS to POV code to produce mesh2 output,
with partial support for uv mapping.

Very nice! You might want to see if there's a way for you to convert things
such as spheres to POV-Ray's actual sphere primitive, and stuff like that,
instead of just converting everything straight to meshes. I would doubt that
you'd have that ability though.

I like it VERY much! It looks stiff enough to look like cloth, and not like
rubber.

Excellent!

Fernando.

That's what I was doing initially. For example in
<http://news.povray.org/3cfa828e@news.povray.org>
the hemisphere and plane are POV primitives.

If I know that the object is going to be perfectly rigid I can go
directly to the POV primitive, but if there's a possibility of it
wobbling or rotating I use a mesh.

I just happen to have used a mesh in this case, even though the sphere
is rigid, because I was testing my new mesh2 creation code.
