Oh, there's always someone in a helicopter filming some building for no
particular reason. It was just a matter of time before this happened...
;)

Well, I don't think there are any "big" improvements left to do. There
is some indefinable thing wrong with the first second of the explosion, and
you already know that I think there should be a visible shock wave.

that is several orders of magnitude better - good work!

Thanks. :)

Thank again! :D

I presume I could post such messages on povray.co.uk myself, but it
would feel rather strange, and I don't see others doing it either... :/

I think it would require several further "big improvements" before the
animation would be interchangeable with a real video clip of an
explosion. However, I'm approaching the limit for how far I can reach
with regard to realism. My particle system, my creativity, my
understanding of explosions, POV-Ray's features etc. only get me so far
and they all have their limits...

"Indefinable" is an evil word. ;)

I disagree on that one...

Anyway, thanks for the feedback. :)

the submit news does not go directly to the front page of the site, it
usually ends up in my on-site inbox. some people do submit items which I
then relay (after rewriting usually) to the news page.

only staff members can post directly to the front page

I think the camara movement was improved a lot, the last one I saw was too
shaky. Congratulations,

Fernando.

Oh ok. See that's the kind of thing which should be mentioned on the
submit news page. As it is now, one has no idea what it does...

Fabulous. The speed reduction of the camera helped a lot. But I don't
agree with the majority who say the first two seconds look bad. If you ask
me, the problem is that the smoke turns black in visible blocks; its not a
smooth transition. Also, once the fire really gets going, the black smoke
doesn't seem to slow down its vertical movement; it should really slowdown
and expand horizontally. Otherwise, I'm sure this would have fooled me if
I hadn't seen it here...

:O

Feels a bit slow at the beginning (too much suspense), but the rest is
great. Too bad that big argument broke out about 9/11. :P
