Here I've used my particle system to simulate some cheap, fast-rendering
fire using glows. (Unfortunately glows only work on dark backgrounds.)

I'm not quite sure how realistic it is. How would you rate it?

The motion looks fairly realistic, but the glows don't create realistic
flames, which should have a more stretched shape and a sharper border.

Have you tried media with a blob pattern for density?

BTW, you can also use negative color in glows on bright background. Could
make a quite convincing and fast smoke.

Looks like a large fire blurred in the distance.

Better than any fire I've ever made. :) I agree with Bill, though. Add some
turbulence to the glows.

Ok.

No, but I've been thinking about it. I'll probably try it later.

Good idea. I will try it later. I think media will do a better job for smoke
too though.

Really? :)

I'll try, but I don't think that will help. Media is the way I guess.

TonyB suggested that I should add turbulence to the glows to improve the
fire.

Here it is - I think it does improve it! It's a lot slower too though...
