Hi tracers!

Since about three years I'm doing animations with PoV-Ray, but always
used Fast Movie Processor, which only generates AVI clips. Now I'm
seeing that most of you post MPEG files, which are much smaller and
still may contain sound... can anyone around tell me which video
encoder/editor should I use to convert my existing AVIs into MPEGs as
well as generating new video clips in MPEG from single PoV frames?

See you in Khyberspace!

Yadgar

Hi, what about povray.animations instead ? FU2 set.

I use bbmpeg (freeware, slow but tunnable) with the front end avi2mpeg.
To make the avi (uncompressed codec, with sound if needed), I use
another program (whose name currently escape me..., but any should do!)

We post either mpeg1 or mpeg4. Most people here seem comfortable with mpeg1
although it's the oldest codec. For making mpeg1 files, I suggest you use
this free software: www.tmpgenc.com

It's a great program and should cover all your current needs.

Are you aware that Fast Movie Processor has now become VideoMach (www.gromada.com)?
Outputs mpeg's. Free for non-commercial use.
