yes, yes i could. i just layed out a suqare patch (translate
<(rand(sd1)*5)-2.5,0,(rand(sd2)*5)-2.5>) and then animated the camera and then
only realised the "patch" didin't fill the view once the anim was rendered ...
such is life whilst raytracing.
I guess i'd then instance the patch that i do have out to the horizon.
i think maybe a useful macro would be to create a view frustum that you could
call to define the bounds of object creation.

The clovers are all slightly varied in colour. I textured with the black and
white image map and then in each loop creating each clover i added a
colour_map that was randomly varied by a very small factor. While the factor
is very small, i'd say that, within the reason of pov's random generator, each
clover's colour is unique.

it may have made more sense, in a economy of memory kinda way, to have made 3
or 4 descreet different textures, because at the moment there are as many
pigment definitions as there are individual clovers.

You are correct! The ground is textured plane. I wasn'tt expecting the angle
of the camera to get so low. Yes, a height field would be perfect. I could
then add some more interest with small hills and the like. I should be
returning to other projects, but with features like povray has, it's possible
to play with scenes forever!

Win 98, first edition, Media Player 6.4
No purple line, even full screen.
