While this is simple, it was my first attempt using clockmod and
animations. I have to say that that macro really makes life easy. The
media was megapov media type 3. all 30 frames rendered in about 35
minutes at 320X240 aa = 0.3

Nice, except that the beginning and end are at an inconvenient position.
Because of the little skip that some animations get, and because it is at
the rear of the image it makes a -very- big jump in the flow.

I would recommend making the beginning and end at a point where the beam is
horizontal, so that if it skips, there will be no visible sign of it other
than a little hesitation.

why did you need clockmod?
POV alone supports:

Assuming you used a cone for the beam of light

cone{<>,r,<>,r rotate z*clock*360)

assuming Z is up and your clock value went from 0.0 to 1.0.

I just did this as pratice with clockmod. Plus, I found it to be a little
more intuitive than the official clock stuff.

the light is a spot light with media.
