Thought I'd give it a go with a change to mpeg for Paul's flames Agif. Don't
think you want to know what I had to do to get it from there to here. In fact I
couldn't say, I haven't been able to figure out how I extracted the individual
frames in the first place. Thought it was Animation Shop (comes with PSP) but
there isn't any way to do it that I can find again. I'm really confused how I
did it. Well the rest of the way was just batch conversion to Targa from Bmp
files and then I used Cmpeg to encode finally.
Hope you don't mind the conversion here Paul.

Bob

Drat I had intended this to go into Paul Vanukoff's thread of the same flame
animation. Please excuse me, it is NOT my own work.

I would read the animation into MainActor video-editor and save the frames
as tga's, then use cmpeg as you did... And then I discovered that the
filenames are too long! I can't do a rename and there it stops :-(

Then I discover that MainActor lets you save the files with another, shorter
name.!
The whole process takes half a minute :-)

Animation Shop lets you save them as GIF, FLC, FLI and AVI. So, open the
GIF, then hit Save As and specify AVI. Easy

I only have version 1.03 of Animation Shop here. Shows just the *.gif or
*.mng when File/Save As... is used.
That must be version 2 or greater there.

Version 3 can save as Avi. Not sure about 2. And then I prefer TMPGEnc to
convert the AVI to MPG
eep, shows what happens when you don't read a group for a while - just
re-downloading the groups
