What GIF? This is an MPG. I never use GIF. It sucks. I wish they had
animated PNG. :)

There has been a specification written for animated png's but is fairly new,
the tools available for it are sparse, and only a very limited number of
programs can display them.

I have heard only rumors of the specification. If I were a betting
man I would say the only people currently using the specification are
programmers who write their own apps. You might poke around the PNG
home page for leads - http://www.cdrom.com/pub/png/
