There are no other files in Povray open ... I see only the Message window
I go through
    Render->SelectFileAndRender->C:\Programme\Povray for Windows v3.5\Insert
Menu\images.ini

Povray stops parsing, giving me:

-------------------------------------------

...
...
    Statistics Stream to console....On
    Warning Stream to console.......On
Possible Scene File Parser Initialization Error: Could not find file
'OBJECT.POV'
Scene File Parser Initialization Error: Cannot open input file

Returned from renderer with error status
-------------------------------------------

Because Copy'n Paste doesn't work, I typed this by hand ... I only wrote here
the last lines I see ...

What annoyes me, is that I can't find a place, where OBJECT.POV is included
...

can someone describe how I have to render the Images for the insert-menu ?

OK .. i found something that makes me dizzy ...

I tried also to render
    C:\Programme\POV-Ray for Windows v3.5\scenes\animations\life\life.ini

Once again I got the message:
---------------------------------
Possible Scene File Parser Initialization Error: Could not find file
'OBJECT.POV'
Scene File Parser Initialization Error: Cannot open input file
---------------------------------

When I looked into pvengine.ini I saw this:

---------------------------------
[LastRender]
HistogramFile=
IniOutputFile=
OutputFile=C:\Programme\POV-Ray for Windows
v3.5\scenes\animations\life\OBJECT.bmp
CurrentDirectory=C:\Programme\POV-Ray for Windows v3.5\scenes\animations\life
SourceFile=C:\Programme\POV-Ray for Windows
v3.5\scenes\animations\life\OBJECT.POV
SceneFile=OBJECT

---------------------------------

But I never specified this "OBJECT.POV" ...
Anyone else ?

Where is my mistake ?

did you accidentaly delete or move povray.ini, that can be the cause.

object.pov is stanard, if no other scenefile was defined with
Input_File_Name povray looks for object.pov.
Somehow there seems no inputfile specified in the ini-files you
run.

to render the insert_menu pics, do options/other
settings/re-render insert menu bitmaps if that helps

Not that I'm aware of ...
Other files render fine, and if I select
    Tools->Edit master POVRAY.INI
the file opens well ...

Ok ... I think my error was, that I assumed that the INI-files are prepared
in a way that they could directly be run ... not all of them are ...
