Hi,

I was wondering if it is possible to enhance the edges of an object purely
by using textures. For example, I have a set of boxes packed against
eachother in a grid. They all have the same colour (solid colour pigment).
Is it possible, by using other texture options, to visualize the edges so
you can see that it is a grid of boxes and not just a large box?

All hints welcome.

Thanks a lot,

Gert

There are many ways this could be accomplished. The easiest way to do this
would be to use non-solid color pigment, or to slightly vary the color of
each box. Generally things look more real with dirt and random marks, so a
random texture adding some detail to each box would work as well.

But to show the boxes' edges, you could make the edges rounded. You can do
this using a rounded box, but for using textures only, apply pigments or
normals to make the edges appear rounded. Multiple gradient patterns could
be used for this.
