Could anyone give me an example of a good looking engine glow? Like
something that you'd see come off of a spaceship's engine in a sci-fi movie.
Any good media tutorials out there that might help me?

Thanks

Once I stopped trying to use all of those advanced parameters it was a
breeze. I wish I knew it so easy to get results from media... maybe not what
I was expecting... but it always looks neat. I should've tried this sooner!

LOL!

So share what you have learned with the rest of us! I'm sort of interested
in the same thing :)

I'm still just getting the hang of it, but here's what I've learned.

Well, I just wanted to get some neat glowing stuff, and the media statement
looked all crazy and complex, but then I realized I didn't need most of it.
All you need is a bounding shape, make it clear and hollow, and then pick a
color and do emission color, emission type 2 is great also so it doesn't get
washed out, and then you can change the form of it with density, which is
sort of like a pigment. Now if you use absorbsion and not emission you can
make clouds, fog, smoke, that kind of stuff. Use both to create glowing
gasses and atmospheres.

The best part is you can make some great stuff without working *too* hard.
Just keep a the help file open for reference and see what you can do!
