Thanks for the code!
And for the position math I didn't need Superpatch. But I have used
Superpatch to deform a sphere with a heightfield of- Mars, Venus, Earth,
an asteroid etc. The trace function helps to place the camera on the
surface of these irregular objects. With some of the better heightfield
files of Earth, I should be able to "float down" from orbit and land in
a river valley with just one model of the Earth.
