Hi all,

I know, this has been discussed several times but I`m not able to get a
looks_like effect of a Bulb. I downloaded a chandelier from 3D cafe and
wanted to illuminate the bulbs. I converted the 3ds file with 3dwin and put
the bulb together with the pointlight in a group object. For the bulb, no
shadow has been checked. I tried to adapt the texture but it doesn't work.

Help is very appreciated

Hi there Robert,

You can achieve the looks_like effect in Moray
by adding the object/object together with a point
light in a CSG union. Turn the shadow off for the
whole union. Now, when it comes to getting the,
in your case, light bulbs to look like real ones
normally a ambience setting around 1 on all the
textures does the trick. The problem is that when
you use image maps you have to "fix them" yourself
in <fill in your favourite pixel handling program here>
so that the image map looks like a bulb that is lit.

Try it with a simple sphere and pointlight first
and create a whiteyellow texture with ambient set to 1.
