Hi there,
downloaded the tree plugin from keith's page and installed it. Seems to
work fine, when i start rendering out from moray, i get a nice result in
povray. But i can't see anything but a plain circle in moray. Is this a
bug? Am I too stupid?
How can I get a (approximated) view of the tree I am working on in
moray?
in advance (please help)
Robert

he may not have made the wireframes for the objects.

wait for Keith to write the code for them :)

Hi Ryan, hi Rick,
i thought, there IS a kind of preview in moray, relating to the comment
in the MorayTree.txt file that comes up with the plugin:
(...)
Known Features:
===============
The Moray objects shown on screen only approximate the trees that
the include file creates, this is because Gilles uses a random number
to modify the Trees.
(...)
hmm...
best wishes,
Robert

In this case very approximate ;-) I can't show the tree as I can't
approximate the tree code. The only way is to render it from within
Moray rather than exporting it. The circle is just there as a way to
place the tree within the scene.
Best Regards,

I also started thinking about using the Gilles Tran code as a plugin
source. There would be a way to do it, if you would switch the povray
macros to c++ macros & generate the tree from within the plugin. Then
you'd at least be able to use the connection points of the segments
(from the first few recursions) to build at (very low-end) wireframe. I
think this could be quite helpful. just think about it, Keith. Or if you
don't mind share the source code with me, so I'd not have to design all
the framework again :)

Hi Arne,
Hmmmm.. It might be possible if you could use Pov's random number
generator. I'll think about it, but I'm not promising anything. If you
want the source code, I'll zip it up and mail it to you?
Best Regards,
Keith

You would not need it anymore if you would switch over to a complete
in-plugin-generation & skip the maketree.inc. I'd think that you might
even gain a bit of speed, & you'd have all the necessary data for the
wireframe. So I'd like the plugin to throw out the ready-to-render
tree.inc You get what i mean?
If you don't mind, i'd be glad if you'd mail me the source
Thanks in advance
