Hey all,
I found a way to play back an animation in the wireframe mode. On the
slider control where it shows the current frame/total frames and has the
left/right arrows, click on the right arrow and while holding that down move
the mouse/cursor up and away from it. Release the mouse button and the
animation will playback!
If you already know this, then you're ahead of me.

i just render tha animation and use the wireframe setting on the render
options panel - its renders real quick, and gives you and excellent idea of
what you final anim will look like
(and you can blow it up full screen and sit back)
nice trick tho - real nice :) - almost gets xander off the hook to write a
play button (its a feature now - not a bug!!)
