I was just wondering whether it is possible to use any of the 'features'
from MegaPOV vai Moray directly, for example UV mapping a mesh typey thingy
would be very useful with previews and cotrol etc, can a UDO do this. Sorry
if this just sounds stupid (I do see that it can be done exporting the file
first), dont mean to waste any time.

Hi Peter Cracknell, you recently wrote in moray.win:

Probably not.

An UDO might be the ticket. You can put any POV code in the INC since
Moray does not touch the INC file. I'm not sure whether the current
MegaPOV release works with Moray, though, I just remember that the
SuperPatch had a bug that prevented it from working with Moray.

Yes, I can confirm they work together beautifully. :)
I've used MegaPOV with both Moray 3.1 and the new beta without
the slightest hitch.

Isn't POV 3.5 going to basically be MegaPOV?

Many of the new features in MegaPov will be in POV-Ray v3.5. What exactly
will make it the POV-Team is still not decided on but I will go out on a
limb and say that a majority of them will. There are likely to be syntax
changes between MegaPov and the official version and some features may
be cut because they are either trivial, create conflicts with existing
features, or they are not entirely cross platform compatible. Also in
POV-Ray v3.5 will be many bug fixes that have been reported since the
last release of the program.
Regardless there will be enough new features introduced in POV-Ray v3.5
that Lutz should be busy well into next year trying to provide support for
all of them :)
