How 'bout this idea for a plugin. I'm sure it would be very easy to make
too. It takes an object and randomly duplicates it over and over. There
would be basic user inputs such as distance ranges and # of copies, but
not many. I need this, but can't do it with the duplicate option in
Moray :-(

I bet you that there have been at least 120 messages asking for this plugin,
in about 5 seperate threads...and nothing has happened.

You Know You've Been Raytracing Too Long When:
You tell stories to your kids that #include stuff like "Once there was a
polygon mesh who was very sad because he was only Gourard shaded."

It is possible, to an extent, to use the IK tool to get these results.

I am currently working on designing a bridge made of rough cut wood. It
was nesecary to make each board moved, apparently at least, randomly in the
horizontal direction by a small amount, and to adjust the spacing between
the planks. So I just set up an IK chain with the boards and wiggled boards
at certain intervals along the way down the bridge. It worked well for this
example at least. You can see this bridge at the link below.

What I think would be useful is if Moray allowed you to randomly
transform textures, or to affect textures when duplicating.
