Make sure the image is one of the standard library paths. If it is not then
pov will have problems finding it. I have never had Pov reject any tga files
even if they were partialy rendered images from an aborted render. It's
pretty tolerant.

Hi Steven Jones, you recently wrote in moray.win:

I doubt it, since Moray can't generate any TGA's at all<g>. Moray only
makes POV-Ray generate TGAs.

It may be so that you "instruct" Moray to save rendered pov images as tgas,
but that doesn't mean that Moray follows your "instructions" ;-)

To clarify: As Lutz already wrote, Moray does *not* save any image file in
any format. What happens is this:
In Moray, in the render options you set the output fileformat to TGA, then,
when you render from Moray, Moray starts a new render-job in Povray, with
the right flags set so that *Povray* will save the output in the format
specified. Moray is at no stage involved in generating the output image or
saving it in any format, but for the initial setting of Povray flags.
So if your TGAs are corrupt, you have to blame Povray, not Moray. Then
again: I doubt very much that the TGAs are corrupt, because you would be the
only person with this problem. Maybe it is the software you are using to
*read* the TGAs that does work correctly...

Johannes.

When You use Moray to start a render, it writes a POV File and an INI-file
for POV.
When You instruct MORAY to make POV to generate TGA files, then INI Settings
are so that it writes TGA files with alpha-channel information. Some Progs
dont like TGAs with Alpha-channel, esp. CMPEG will refuse to work with these
images. You have to comment out the apropriate line in the INI-file:
;Output_Alpha=On
or set it to OFF.

At last, the TGAs are of course NOT corupted. They have aditional
information contained in them, and some Progs refuse to work with them.
Anyways, when one doesnt use alpha-channels, this is simply waste of
disk-space.

greetings, Mathias
