I have a one color logo that I would love to generate a 3D image of. It is
a circular logo. Is there any way to take this image and convert it to a 3D
image with out to much of a struggle
you might try using a 2d program to shade it right and apply a drop
shadow to it, etc... it sort of depends... what's the logo look like?

personally i would use the logo as a background in one of the moray windows,
then 'trace' it with primitives, ttfnts etc whatever.
it may take it bit more time, but you will have so much more fliexability,
and it will render much better.
I have tried the heightfield technique myself, and to be honest, wasn't
impressed with the result.
