Isn't the result of the animation round a bit late?

My guess is that
http://irtc.org/anims/2003-01-15/results.txt
will be the first one updated.

It's taken longer in prior rounds.

Are you saying it is not a fixed number of days as with stills?

It takes as long as the administrators--who have real lives to live--
take to get around to it.

John

Excuse me for asking. I haven't met a ruder group of people in my life.

But John was not being rude. He was being factual. What would be rude is if someone
told you otherwise. Truth is that rarely if ever do the competitions go exactly on
schedule nor should you expect them to, unless you enjoy being dissapointed. The
people who administer the competition do have real lives outside the competition
and sometimes it takes them an extra day or two or three to take care of processing
everything needed to update the web site.
EVERYONE who has participated in more than one of these competition periods knows
this and accepts it. Everyone I know around here does this for fun, not money.
If the administrators were paid real money for what they do they might be more
timely. If valuable prizes were awarded there would likely be less tolerance by
the participants. Neither of those conditions exist so a little tolerance is
expected on both sides of the issue. Welcome to the real world.

We all have other lives. We all live in the real world. I asked a
question. I was told the obvious, we all have real lives, in a very rude manner.
There are deadlines for participants. Common courtesy dictates an equal
deadline courtesy on the behalf of the contest holders. Mutual respect
and mutual consideration is all I assumed.
And all I asked is if there were not a fixed number of days the same as
the stills competition. And I got told the obvious, we all have a real
world. I needed that. I did not know that.
Also when I commented on copyright matters I was told the system was
automatic. If the system is automatic then scoring is automatic. There is
a cut off date on scoring, the votes are tallied by simple routine and
the winner is posted. There is no human intervention in tallying the
votes nor the winners. The only human interest might be in changing the winner
marquee and a bit of text. If it is that hard, I volunteer my services.
There can be no time over and above the scoring days available other
than changing the winning marquee if only scores need be tallied. That
takes no extra time.
Again, if I am in error, I offer my time in accomplishing this task.

Cool. I non-sarcastically, non-ironically suggest that you make such a
volunteer of services to: irt### [at] irtcorg
and /or http://irtc.org/mailman/listinfo/irtc-l .
I suspect however that it really is more complicated than any of us here
have mentioned. I believe I saw on the IRTC mailing list that one of the
fellows involved was doing his part Tueday night. It wasn't just one guy
changing one page of HTML, AFAICS
