It's a neat topic but it's hard to find any references. I have a few
Edgerton photos from various magazines and that's it. His work is
seemingly non-existent on the internet. Anyone know where I can find
images or movies? I have some ideas but don't know what they would
actually look like in slow motion.

My ideas revolve around humor where an event is shown twice, once at
normal speed, then at slomo, where a whole lot more is shown that one
would not have expected to happen.

Edgerton's 'home' on the net would appear to be one
<http://www.edgerton.org>, however, the site contains few photo's and as
far as I could find, noting but a GIF anim.
Bitpress, at <http://www.bitpress.com/hs/index.html> have some downloadable
MOV files of fruit exploding (what is the facination in splattering food -
oh yeh, it's fun and messy)
The "High speed marshmallow collisions" at
<http://hiviz.com/GALLERY/galleries.htm> are great - now there's the job I
want - shooting marshmallows!
more pics at <http://courses.ncssm.edu/hsi/> - the obligitary food section,
plus bursting balloons, water splashes, stream collisions, but again all
stills.
Probably the nicest image I found on my travels:
<http://www.rit.edu/~andpph/splash-1.jpg> - classic picture, but nice.
Hope these links help.
(Like Greg M. Johnson, I'm planning on trying to produce something with a
little humor rather than a scientific type ANIM - more fun to create as well
as more fun to watch.)

I'm using a different take on the idea than I've seen discussed so
far.

I've been working with POVray for about three months so far, but haven't
tackled Animation (haven't even finished a 2d worth submitting actually),
but all of a sudden I have a killer concept for an animation.
I'd like to at least rough this thing out by April. I am getting quite
comfortable with the POVray environment, and am rendering the basic scene
elements ok. Any suggestions on where to start for anim?
