At the moment they look like flat shaded polygons (with a hint of
reflection), more akin to software 3d Renderers for games, not a snap
shot of your imagination.
I think the best approach for texturing those kind of shapes would be
to use image_maps (i.e. Draw a detailed texture in your favourite art
program and project it onto the appropriate parts of the mesh.)
Examples of what can by done by this method, (and other examples of
superb texture work) can be found at Howard's site...
