I have slightly improved the modelling and added two more
patterns(patterns as in a specific fly, not a POV-Ray pattern. :-) )
The one on the left is an Adams(sometimes spelled Addams).
The center one is the Royal Wulff(sometimes spelled Wulf, this pattern
is also called the Royal Coachman quite often even though it doesn't
have the feather wings)
The one on the right is a Light Cahill.
The names for the patterns are a bit arbitrary, a single pattern may
have several different names from being developed in different areas,
but these names are pretty standard and recognizeable.
I am not satisfied with the bodies of the Adams and Light Cahill, in
real life they have a spun fur body, these look like plastic foam. And
the textures need adjustment, the Light Cahill should have a light cream
body.
The Adams has feather-tip wings, I wrote a macro to construct them,
complete with the spine of the feather and the fibers. It is a bit more
memory consuming, but I couldn't find any more realistic way of doing it.
JPEG is already killing it, but I didn't want to upload a larger file
here. I will put a higher quality version on my web site when I get the
time. This will probably be my last fly image posted until I get an
actual scene(a fly box and some other fishing equipment, maybe I will
model my fly tying desk).
