If you are surprised at the use of kevlar thread for bass flies, well,
bass do put a lot of stress on them, and the thread is put under a lot
of tension when constructing the spun-hair flies. Kevlar thread is
probably most often used in saltwater flies, though.
Or were you surprised at the idea of using flies for bass? Flyrods are
sometimes the only way to get a lure to a certain spot without scaring
every fish in the area away.
