Nice, simple, and elegant. I wouldn't mind having one of these sitting
on my desk just to look at when I'm tired of working on something. Good
choices for the RGB spotlights...not too brightly colored, but gives a
hint of color to the scene.
I'd try reducing the diameter of the wire on the vertical supports and
top ring, it looks too heavy compared to the "orb". And maybe position
the top ring lower on the orb. Maybe use a hexagon pattern instead of
checker for the floor, keeping a 3-way symmetry. Render it at a higher
resolution and it'd make a nice desktop picture.
