Unfortunately not, individual glows can only be spherical at the moment.  
But if you string enough small, dim glows together, you can get 
approximations of other shapes.

As far as I understand it (I.e. not really that well) the glow is a 
rendering shortcut which calculates the brightness of a hypothetical glow 
point based on how close to the light source the ray passes.

I suspect that someone else (I.e. Chris Huff) could explain this far 
better than I can or have.
