well i settled for something more real than sur... also ditched the 
radiosity. pulled this one off with a point light that tracks the 
hot-spot you see in the lamp. the fill light is a shadowless spot the 
same color as the greenery. i wish blender would quit changing their 
ui...i'll have to get better before i can detail out the gnome
