That is a very good question.
In truth I don't really know. I asked myself at the time and several
times afterwards but the answer was not forthcoming.
Maybe I wanted to find a game where the object was not necessarily to
get frightened or to kill things* </drool>. ;-)
Maybe I was just feeling altruistic and I had been entranced by the
enthusiasm of a colleague about the BBC micro, version.
I don't know. But if I wasted 100 GBP then I will put it down to
experience. And experience was never bought so cheaply. </quote>
But now I've bought in I will give it a go and I look forward to playing it.
* I do not understand why anyone would get enjoyment out of killing
things. Unless they want to tick the "Pervert" box. I can understand
people getting excited by being frightened. But I have died several
times in my life, And if it wasn't for the luck of the cat being alive
when the box opened. I wouldn't be here.
So I forego the adrenalin rush.
