O.k., here they are (the famous Persian/Scythian Pazyryk carpet, 5th
century BC)... I found them on Wikipedia.
Unfortunately, I failed to find images of carpets made around the
beginning of the Christian Era, as far as I know, the next-younger
carpet fragments date from about 400 CE!
But this Achaemenid masterpiece is really stunning... I wonder whether
modern replicas exist, I really could imagine such carpets lying on the
floor of LanuHum's modernist home!
