Haskell isn't the only programming language which is "safe" enough that
a typical beginner won't usually cause an OS-level crash just by
accident. There are plenty of other safe languages...
It's true that a finely-crafted C++ program will probably be faster than
anything you could write in a safe language. It's also true that most
code isn't very "finely-crafted"...
