Unlikely... old B&W might have been at 15 or 18 fps, so of course
playing then with an engine at 24 (for 18) was already a bit of speed.
The speed-up of 48 to 50 is unnoticeable (or all the European continent
is used to it, it's the same as 24 to 25).
If the display was 120Hz, it could be that instead of a nice 5 factor
(for 24fps), it is now an alternated 2 & 3 fixed images per frame.
(assuming no interpolation occurs between the frames). That might have a
bit of detection by some eyes/brain.
