   This could have caused the links to become unstable, so the chain
broke is several parts. This can be mitigated greatly by increasing the
triangle count (i.e. smooth it one more time).

   :) ...just figured it out: Poseray is rotating it 90 on x... simply
uncheck the Import options -> reorient 3Ds on the first tab (I've had
this unchecked since immemorial ages, that's why I didn't have this
"problem").
