This is a demo image that I decided to run while making a set a macros
for randomly positioning shapes around the perimeter of a given object.
I distributed cylinders over a sphere, cut them out with CSG from a
shell, added scattering media, and put a light source inside the shell.
The facing side is masked with a cylinder because the beams coming at
the camera look really ugly and patchy, all visible beams are going from
the back hemisphere and ending at a surrounding hollow sphere.

Not much to look at, but it does show how media really needs a lot of
samples for this sort of thing, this is at 50 samples and a 10 minute
render on my new computer.
