Just to let everyone know - I'm collecting up the comments on the
appearance and functionality of the site. We have a new graphics
designer who volunteered to help out and we expect to replace the layout
of the site at some point in the future. Your comments will all feed
into that process. Some of the appearance of the site is temporary and
is done in a simple way just to get the site operational. We will be
improving it over time.

As for the thumbnails, I can easily create the thumbnails automatically
for stills but it would be impossible to do so for animation (which
frame would be the best representation of the animation). I felt that
we could start by having the submitter provide the thumbnails in all
cases. I may reconsider that decision before we start the first
official round so consider the mandatory thumbnails for still to be
temporary.

I'd like to keep the submission process managed completely by the site
which means that FTP submissions wouldn't be possible. I'm willing to
be convinced otherwise if the community feels strongly enough about it.

Thanks
David Buck
