#local Version=version;
#local Seed=seed(1);
#local NewRND=rand(Seed);
#version 3.6 #local OldRND=rand(Seed); #version Version

that should do it. Advantages: no need for new keywords, and the
possibility to use both the old and the new random-number generator in 1
scene. Disadvantages: doesn't look as clean.
