Excellent question, Yadgar!

The answer is rather simple: I have not yet found a way to make a beard in 
Poser and none are provided standard. I have seen some beards (I believe for 
Poser 4) but they were not really good. It is something I may try to model 
in Silo first, but the real challenge is the image map!!! I am afraid it 
still is beyond my skills.
I would like him to have a thin ring beard and moustache.
In fact, he has a faint beard, as included in the face image map, but it 
doesn't come out very well, at least at this scale (see the attached image 
from an earlier test render in Poser).
