Since this is my first post, I figured I had to take on the epic "Chrome 
Sphere on Checkered Plane" that begins all good POV-ing careers.  This 
particular version uses scattering media (type 4), focal blur, blurred 
reflection, and radiosity.  Needless to say, it took a long time to 
render (I'd hazard to guess it was around 20 hours for this resolution - 
I'd give more precise data, but the computer crashed sometime after it 
completed but before I got to access it again).

Because I'm impatient, some of the quality settings were inadequate.  I 
got rid of most of them with some simple GIMPing - despeckle tackled the 
persistent focal blur artifacts that kept occuring quite well, but the 
image isn't vanilla :(  Name and date were also added with the GIMP. 
Nothing else was changed.
