Fascinating rings.  Great design details, that degree of scale change 
(between the imprints and teh ring over all ) is fairly difficult in 
mesh which your notes suggest to me you are using.

The display feels a bit forced to me though.  I am guessing that you 
trying to act on the usual advice have lots of textures to be reflected 
in the metal surface.  But I find the horizontal texture just too muddy 
and busy and it's slight greenish cast does poorly together with the 
strong yellow.  I keep wanting either a more desaturated yellow in the 
ring or some red somewhere to set it off.  Did you by any chance try a 
less busy stone texture for the dislay surface?  And I would take away 
the blue infinite plane altogether.  I have been looking at the display 
pedestals that artists like Giacometti or Brancusi made for their own works.

Just the idea of embrassing the display as an abbreviated element that 
is a matter of convention and artistry
