Hi Jim,
Pretty but...
It's clear you're not very familiar with issues of lab safety or equipment 
design.
Gas Taps with wimpy stopcocks just don't cut it. Those unsupported fiddly 
things would snap in a day and the lab would go up in smake!
Take a reality check and google gas-tap.

Levers are clearly on or off and often yellow.
