Didn't it seem to you that he was suggesting ways to at least speed PoV up
a little? Isn't that what we 'all' want? (Maybe that was his sole intention
to at least air his views on PoV speed? Who knows now?)
My latest TEST image at 1280x1024, with AA, took twenty-two hours.
Twenty-two hours. That's my longest render ever in five years - and it was a
test image with focal blur. I cocked the focal blur up, but I wouldn't have
known that until the image was at least close to the end. That just doesn't
make sense to me. That was wasted time, and now I'll probably not use focal
blur, which is a shame, because I believe it would be beneficial for my
image if I could get it in the right place in the first instance without
guessing.
See my point? At this stage in my PoV career, I want to hear any suggestion
that might be beneficial for all of us, <'whatever' that is>.
What's going to happen when someone else 'new' suggests something?
